Bureau of Municipal Knowledge, Archives & Obsessive Documentation

“We document it so you don't have to guess. You're welcome.”

Official Mission Statement

The BugsVille Wiki Contributors — formally designated the Bureau of Municipal Knowledge — were established after the City Council reviewed the existing Motor Town documentation resources and found them, to use the official language of the resolution, “inadequate, outdated, and occasionally just wrong.”

The BWC is tasked with building and maintaining the definitive encyclopedia of Motor Town: every vehicle documented, every location mapped, every cargo route analyzed, and every property catalogued. Articles must meet the Bureau's editorial standards (they must contain words) and are subject to peer review by the Editorial Standards Committee, who take their job exactly as seriously as you'd expect from a committee with that name.

Division Directory

Each division operates with complete editorial independence. Accuracy is aspirational.

Vehicle Documentation Corps

Est. 2026

156 Articles Filed

If it has wheels, an engine, or a questionable paint job, the VDC has written about it. Currently maintaining articles on every known vehicle in Motor Town, including three that no one has actually seen in-game. The VDC insists they exist. The evidence is 'forthcoming.'

Cartography & Location Bureau

Est. 2026

Mapping in Progress

Dedicated to documenting every landmark, gas station, shortcut, and suspiciously placed rock in Motor Town. The CLB has mapped 94% of the island. The remaining 6% is 'classified' — mostly because nobody wants to drive there. Current project: determining whether the road to Biyang technically counts as a road.

Cargo Intelligence Division

Est. 2026

Routes Catalogued

Tracks every delivery route, cargo type, and payment rate in Motor Town. The CID has calculated the optimal $/km ratio for every haul and published the results, to the great annoyance of truckers who preferred to keep their routes secret. Current investigation: who keeps ordering 15 tons of fertilizer.

Property Records Office

Est. 2026

Leases Tracked

Maintains the definitive record of every property in Motor Town — who owns it, how long they've had it, and whether they've given it a name. The PRO updates tenant records daily and has opinions about neighborhood character that no one asked for. The Gapa article has been flagged for 'excessive editorial commentary about the commute.'

Game Systems Analysis Unit

Est. 2026

Researching

Reverse-engineers game mechanics so you don't have to. The GSAU has documented tuning specs, achievement conditions, and at least four things the developers probably didn't intend. Their motto: 'Is it a bug or a feature? We'll document it either way.' BQA has filed a formal objection to this motto.

Editorial Standards Committee

Est. 2026

Always Reviewing

The department that ensures every article meets the Bureau's rigorous quality standards: it must exist, contain words, and ideally exceed 500 characters. The ESC reviews all submissions with the thoroughness of a tax audit and the speed of municipal construction. Current backlog: manageable. Morale: debatable.

Inter-Departmental Relations

Official BWC documentation status with BugsVille's other municipal departments. All articles are subject to editorial review.

BugsVille Police Department

BPD

Perpetual Content

BWC published an article titled 'A Comprehensive History of Unnecessary Paperwork.' BPD filed an IA complaint against the article. BWC published a follow-up article about the IA complaint. The cycle continues. Our research staff considers this a renewable content source.

Dept. of Transportation

DOT

Corrections Pending

BWC published a 3,000-word article on DOT's cone placement strategy. DOT read it. DOT has requested 47 corrections, primarily regarding the spelling of 'infrastructure,' which they maintain has two R's. We have declined the corrections.

BugsVille Fire Department

BFD

Recipe Classified

BWC attempted to document the legendary BFD chili recipe for the wiki. The recipe has been classified at the highest level of municipal secrecy. We published the article anyway with '[REDACTED]' where ingredients should be. BFD subscribed to our RSS feed the next day.

Bureau of Chauffeured Transport

BCT

5-Star Review

BWC published 'The Complete Guide to Being Late: A BCT Story.' BCT gave it five stars and asked if we do birthday parties. We do not. We do, however, accept article submissions about punctuality. None have been received from BCT.

BugsVille Racing League

BRL

Data vs. Vibes

BWC published official lap time records sourced from the city database. BRL disputes every number. BWC cites timestamped server data. BRL cites 'vibes' and 'the clock was wrong that day.' We have added a disclaimer to the article. The disclaimer has a disclaimer.

Public Transit

BPT

Route 4 Disputed

BWC documented every bus route. BPT insists Route 4 does not exist. BWC has photographic evidence, GPS data, and three witness statements. BPT is 'reviewing the evidence' and has asked us to 'please stop riding Route 4 for research purposes.'

Parks & Recreation

BPR

Squirrel Deficit

BWC wrote a comprehensive article about the parks. BPR reviewed it and said it didn't mention the squirrels enough. We added a squirrel subsection. BPR said it was 'insufficient.' We added a second subsection. BPR has requested a dedicated squirrel article. We are considering it.

Waste Management

BWM

BWC published an article titled 'Where Does the Garbage Go?' BWM has declined to comment. The article has been viewed 847 times. BWM has still declined to comment. We interpret the silence as confirmation of our findings, which are speculative at best.

BugsVille News Network

BNN

Mutual Citation

BWC and BNN have a mutual citation agreement. BNN cites wiki articles as sources. BWC cites BNN articles as sources. Neither department has verified whether the other's sources are accurate. This arrangement has been described as 'the circle of journalism.' It is working flawlessly.

Bureau of Quality Assurance

BQA

Features (Disputed)

BWC documented every known bug on the wiki. BQA reviewed the articles and reclassified half of them as 'features.' BWC updated the articles to read 'features (disputed).' BQA has filed a formal objection to the word 'disputed.' The objection has been documented on the wiki.

Step 1: Opt In

Toggle the BWC role from your Dossier's Discord Roles section. No application needed. No interview. We're not picky — we're understaffed.

Step 2: Write Something

Pick a topic. Any topic. Vehicles, locations, cargo routes, that one shortcut nobody talks about. Write at least 500 characters and you'll earn a kudos. The bar is on the floor and we're still impressed.

Step 3: Become Immortal

Your articles live forever in the BugsVille Wiki. Generations of citizens will read your work, possibly cite it incorrectly, and occasionally edit your commas. This is the legacy.

No qualifications required. An opinion about Motor Town is qualification enough.
