Department
Bureau of Law Enforcement, Violations & Paperwork
“To protect, to serve, and to file the appropriate paperwork afterward.”
Official Mission Statement
The BugsVille Police Department is committed to the unwavering enforcement of municipal law through proactive patrol operations, comprehensive violation documentation, and the strategic deployment of officers in locations that maximize both public safety and the probability of catching someone doing 90 in a 45.
Our department maintains the highest standards of accountability through an independent Internal Affairs Bureau, a citizen rating system that nobody fully understands, and a filing cabinet so organized it has been classified as a municipal landmark. Every violation is documented. Every complaint is investigated. Every donut rumor is categorically denied.

Bureau Directory
Each bureau operates with complete transparency. Access to transparency reports is pending approval.
Patrol Division
Est. 2026
The backbone of the BPD. Officers respond to calls, conduct traffic stops, and maintain a visible presence in the community. Current response time: depends on whether the officer is mid-coffee. Average citizen complaint: 'They drove past me too fast.' That's the siren, ma'am.
Traffic Enforcement Unit
Est. 2026
Dedicated to ensuring the roads of BugsVille remain safe for law-abiding citizens and terrifying for everyone else. Has issued more reckless driving citations than any other unit. Officers in this division can estimate your speed by sound alone. They are not always correct.
Internal Affairs Bureau
Est. 2026
The department that watches the department. IA investigates citizen complaints, officer misconduct, and the occasional 'my badge fell off, I swear' incident. Complaint categories include Excessive Force, Abuse of Authority, and the ever-popular Conduct Unbecoming. Do your job right and you'll never have a problem with IA. Probably.
Investigations Bureau
Est. 2026
Handles complex cases that require more than a traffic stop and a stern look. Currently investigating: who keeps rotating the stop sign on 4th and Main, the serial pothole vandal (DOT denies involvement), and a string of suspicious vehicle abandonments near the racing district.
Evidence & Records
Est. 2026
Maintains the department's vast archive of violation records, rap sheets, and citizen dossiers. The filing system is state-of-the-art: alphabetical, then chronological, then 'wherever there's room.' Rumor has it that one filing cabinet hasn't been opened since the department was founded. Nobody has the key.
Community Relations
Est. 2026
Responsible for maintaining positive relations between the BPD and the citizens of BugsVille. Current initiatives include the 'Report a Pothole, Not a Cop' outreach program, the annual Citizen Appreciation Day (attendance: 4), and a social media campaign that has been 'in development' for six months.

Internal Affairs Impact
Sustained IA complaints can freeze your promotion. One sustained complaint caps you at Staff Sergeant for 90 days. Two or more sustained complaints cap you at Corporal for 180 days. Keep your record clean and the ranks will come.
Internal Affairs Bureau
Civilian Oversight Division
Has an officer wronged you? Did they cite you for “reckless vibes”? Write you up for parking in a spot that didn't exist until they put a sign there? Confiscate your donut under suspicion of “contraband pastry”? Pull you over for going 2 over the limit while their partner ate lunch in the cruiser?
The Internal Affairs Bureau exists to ensure that every officer of the BugsVille Police Department is held to the highest standards of conduct. Every complaint is investigated. Every officer gets a fair hearing. Every donut theft is taken extremely seriously.
Excessive Force
They didn't need to bring the whole precinct
Abuse of Authority
"I am the law" is not a valid citation
False Citation
That wasn't even a real traffic law
Conduct Unbecoming
Sir, this is a Wendy's
How It Works
File a Complaint
Click any officer's IA button on their card above, or visit the IA portal directly. Describe what happened. Be honest — IA can smell embellishment.
Investigation
IA opens a case, reviews evidence, and interviews the officer in a private thread. The officer gets to tell their side. Everyone gets nervous. As intended.
Disposition
Cases are resolved as Sustained, Not Sustained, Exonerated, or Unfounded. If the complaint is valid, corrective action is taken. If not, your file is still appreciated.
Your badge is a privilege, not a right. IA is here to make sure everyone remembers that.
You can also file a complaint directly from any officer's card using the scales icon.
All complaints are confidential. Donut-related incidents receive priority processing.
Inter-Departmental Relations
Official BPD liaison status with BugsVille's other municipal departments. All records are subject to FOIA.
Dept. of Transportation
DOT
DOT has been 'assessed' as a person of interest in several pothole-related incidents. Investigation is ongoing. DOT maintains the potholes are 'pre-existing.' Our forensics team disagrees.
BugsVille Fire Department
BFD
BFD and BPD maintain a strong working relationship built on mutual respect and a shared parking lot. The ongoing dispute over the last good parking spot has been escalated to HR. Twice.
Bureau of Chauffeured Transport
BCT
BCT has been cited fourteen times for double-parking outside the precinct. They claim they were 'picking up a fare.' There was never a fare. We have dashcam footage. They know we have dashcam footage.
BugsVille Racing League
BRL
BRL has submitted 47 requests to close public roads for 'sanctioned racing events.' All 47 have been denied. BRL continues to race. BPD continues to write citations. This is the arrangement.
Public Transit
BPT
BPT buses have been observed running red lights on three documented occasions. BPT insists the lights were 'amber.' We have installed additional cameras at those intersections. BPT has not run a red light since.
Parks & Recreation
BPR
Parks & Rec files bi-weekly reports on suspicious squirrel activity. We have asked them to stop. They have filed our request and will 'review it in Q3.' We are not optimistic.
Waste Management
BWM
Waste Management operates with a level of efficiency that frankly concerns us. Items we place in evidence occasionally go missing. BWM says they 'handle disposals on a strict schedule.' We have opened a file.
BugsVille News Network
BNN
BNN has submitted 23 Freedom of Information requests this quarter alone. We have responded to all of them with 'pending review.' BNN ran a headline: 'BPD Pending Review of Everything.' We are reviewing it.
BugsVille Wiki Contributors
BWC
BWC published an article titled 'A Comprehensive History of Unnecessary Paperwork.' BPD filed an IA complaint against the article. BWC published a follow-up article about the IA complaint. The cycle continues. Our file room now has a dedicated BWC section.
Join the BugsVille Police Department
Step 1: Apply
Submit your application to the BPD. Include your qualifications, motivation, and willingness to write an unreasonable amount of violation reports. Prior experience with filing cabinets is a plus.
Step 2: Evaluation
Your application will be reviewed by BPD command staff. They will assess your character, your dedication, and your ability to keep a straight face while issuing a parking ticket to a parked car.
Step 3: Badge & Oath
Receive your badge, your patrol assignment, and a gentle reminder that Internal Affairs is always watching. Welcome to the force, Officer. Don't lose the badge — they're expensive.
Your badge is a privilege, not a right. Coffee, however, is a right.
